Join us in celebrating our planet

We invite you to take part in the City of Ryde’s World Environment Day Celebrations.

This year, Council will be hosting a diverse program of activities and events over several weeks starting from 29 May and throughout June. This means more opportunities for everyone to get involved, with activities that are accessible, welcoming, and inclusive for all ages and backgrounds. Enjoy a range of workshops, events, and hands-on activities designed to inspire and empower the community to live more sustainably and care for our local environment.

Whether you're passionate about reducing waste, conserving water, protecting wildlife, or learning new sustainable skills, there is something for everyone.

With National Reconciliation Week also taking place from 27th May until 3rd June - it provides us the opportunity to learn from our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community the importance of Caring for Country, reminding us that looking after the land, water, plants and animals is something we all share. It’s a great chance to meet others, learn useful tips, and take positive steps for a healthier future.

What’s on?

  • Workshops focused on reuse and recycling, sustainable living
  • Interactive eco-activities for all ages
  • Expert talks on environmental issues and solutions
