Following the City of Ryde Council Meeting adjournment from last night (Tuesday 29 April) due to a fire alarm evacuation interrupting proceedings, the meeting will be held tonight, Wednesday 30 April, at 7.00pm.
The City of Ryde is currently investigating the discovery of asbestos, hydrocarbons, and heavy metals at isolated locations within Blenheim Park, North Ryde. This contamination was identified during routine due diligence testing in preparation for the Blenheim Park Masterplan. See more information below.
In August 2020, the City of Ryde adopted the Blenheim Park Masterplan which included the upgrade and relocation of the dog off-leash area, a new amenities building and a new Regional Playground.
A new inclusive playground has been designed to ensure that the play space is accessible for people of all abilities and has play opportunities for a broad range of age groups. The new playground responds to the existing natural elements within Blenheim Park and its hidden history.
As such the playground has a forest and creek theme. It's proposed to have features such as:
A proposed new amenities building will complement the playground and include accessible toilets, ambulant toilets and change rooms for children that use the water play area.
