Streetlights

Council has been advised that due to a serious incident involving an Ausgrid employee working close to live power lines, all work involving live power lines, including street lighting, has been suspended. Council is currently unable to progress such requests until the relevant authorities advise that work can resume. At this stage there is no indicative timeline for when this will occur. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Streetlighting is a vital service that helps keep the community safe and secure.

Streetlights are maintained by Ausgrid, who service about 250,000 streetlights on behalf of 41 local councils, community associations and statutory authorities across their network. They have a number of dedicated crews who can be dispatched to repair faults.

If you would like to report a streetlight fault, go to the Ausgrid website and fill in the online form (select ‘Streetlighting’ under the ‘Community’ menu).

Alternatively, you can call the Ausgrid Streetlighting Fault Line on 1800 044 808
