City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to introduce timed parking on the eastern side of Porter Street, north of Well Street, Ryde.
The proposal will replace the existing No Stopping restrictions and provide three new timed parking spaces for residents and visitors to the area.
WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?
In order to improve short-term parking availability in the area, Council is proposing to introduce 16 metres (approximately three parking spaces) of '2P 8am-6pm Mon-Fri' parking on the eastern side of Porter Street, north of Well Street.
Timed parking restriction would be in effect from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. Parking in these spaces would be unrestricted outside of these hours.
WHY IS THE CHANGE BEING CONSIDERED?
These changes will increase parking availability in the area for residents and visitors. Additionally, the parked vehicles will act as a form of traffic calming by restricting the carriageway width and therefore encourage drivers to reduce speed in the area.
