Resources for Schools

Ryde Environmental Education Network (REEN)

REEN is an environmental network set up in 2007 by the City of Ryde to encourage local schools to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.Through REEN the Council provides a range of educational resources and support that:

  • Promote environmental education in the school’s curriculum and operations
  • Involve young people in new and existing programs
  • Strengthen existing environmental networks
  • Provide opportunities for schools to partner with other organisations (eg P&Cs, Scouts, environmental educators).

REEN links the Council’s environmental, sustainability and waste education initiatives with local schools, education institutions and community groups for better environmental outcomes. The Network meets on a quarterly basis, each term.
