Youth Week 2010
National Youth Week is a joint Australian, State, Territory and Local Government initiative, coordinated by the Australian Government Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA).
Youth Week has been a part of the NSW calendar since 1989 and provides a tool for young people aged 12-25 to get actively involved in highlighting and promoting youth talent and contributions to the community.
National Youth Week’s aim is to showcase young people’s talents, contributions and achievements, to promote a positive image of young people and to give young people a voice and opportunity to express their ideas.
City of Ryde’s Community Services and the Ryde Youth Council coordinates a number of free local activities for young people.

The Core 2009
The Core rocked the Granny Smith Festival on 17th October. Stay tuned for pics from the day. You can still check out the bands who played this year.
Harmony Festival
The Ryde Youth Council worked with a fantastic young artist to create the Harmony Festival mural. The mural was an unfilled outline at the beginning of the day and was added to by people attending the Harmony Festival.

Young Carers
Carers are people who assist and provide support to other people in the community (usually family members) who have a disability, mental health problem, chronic condition or who are frail aged. Many young people in our community are carers for family members who rely upon their support.
Here is a really good website Young Carers NSW for young people who are carers and want some more information or help.
