The City of Ryde is committed to assisting local developers honour the well establish local character of the area while the urban environment changes and grows. A key part of acknowledging the past and celebrating the future together is creating vibrant public art that maintains and forges a strong sense of identify for the City.

This Guide is a working document for developers on how to provide for public art. This is important because public art has been included in various Development Control Plans (DCPs), a mechanism that requires part of the construction costs of a development to be allocated to public art.
