REDcycle soft plastics recycling program paused

Published on 10 November 2022

The soft plastics recycling program run by REDcycle has been temporarily paused due to significant operating challenges facing the organisation.

The NSW Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is working with the Victorian EPA and Recycling Victoria to understand the issues impacting REDcycle and its industry partners and manage potential risks.

At this stage there is no timeline for resumption of the REDcycle program.

In the interim, NSW residents are encouraged to dispose of their soft plastics in their red-lidded general waste bin as soft plastics are not accepted in kerbside (yellow-lidded) recycling bins.
