Council rates and charges levied on owners of property throughout the City of Ryde are Council's major source of income. During 2022/2023 they will provide approximately 67% of Council's total revenue.

The Residential Minimum and Business Minimum rates include mixed developments that have been apportioned in accordance with NSW Land Registry Service records.
The above rates figures include the rate pegging amount of 0.7% as determined by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal.
The Domestic Waste Management Service Charge is levied under Section 496(1) of the Local Government Act and is also detailed in Council's Revenue Policy.
Residents are advised to enter their address in the My Neighbourhood Map or view their Waste Collection Calendar for collection dates.

All additional bins are serviced in accordance with the standard collection service - weekly collection for waste and alternate fortnight collections for recycling and green waste. Complete a New/Additional Waste Services(PDF, 117KB) form and send to Council for approval and delivery.
Waste services to non-rateable residential properties are provided upon request and charged under Section 496(2) of the Local Government Act. Non-rateable residential properties are provided with the same services as rateable properties. The charges are as above.
