Residential Bins

The standard allocation of residential bins for households are:

ECO Service

• 1 x 80L red lidded garbage bin - weekly
• 1 x 240L yellow lidded recycling bin – fortnightly
• 1 x 240L green lidded garden organics bin – fortnightly

Note - ECO Service is not available to units or apartment complexes that have a shared bin service.

Standard Service

• 1 x 140L red lidded garbage bin - weekly
• 1 x 240L yellow lidded recycling bin – fortnightly
• 1 x 240L green lidded garden organics bin – fortnightly

Premium Service

• 1 x 240L red lidded garbage bin - weekly
• 1 x 240L yellow lidded recycling bin – fortnightly
• 1 x 240L green lidded garden organics bin – fortnightly 

Apartment or Unit Blocks

Within apartment or unit blocks the allocation is generally:

• 1 x 240L garbage bin shared between two units or an 1100 litre bin shared between 25-30 units serviced 3 times per week
• 1 x 240L recycling bin shared between two units with the ability to have more if required
• 240L green waste bin as required. 

Damaged Bins

If your bin is damaged (e.g. wheels have fallen off, broken lid, bin has split etc.):

• contact Council's Customer Service on 9952 8222 or report it online:
  • Damaged Garbage Bin
  • Damaged Recycling Bin
  • Damaged Garden Organics Bin
• tell them which bin has been damaged and details of the damage
• leave the damaged bin on the kerbside.

Your bin will either be repaired or replaced within 3 - 5 working days.

Missing Bins

If your bin has gone missing:

• complete an Online Form or PDF Form:
  • Report a lost bin (Online Form) or 
  • Missing Residential Waste Bin PDF Form(PDF, 160KB)
• Fax completed form to 9952 8489 or email to cityofryde@ryde.nsw.gov.au.

Bins will be replaced within five working days.

New/Additional/Changes to Waste Service

If you would like an additional garbage, recycling or green waste bin:

• Complete a New/Additional/Changes to Residential Waste Service Form:
  • Single Use Dwelling(PDF, 130KB)
  • Multi Use Dwellings (such as apartments, unit blocks)(PDF, 119KB)
• Fax completed form to 9952 8489 or email to cityofryde@ryde.nsw.gov.au.

Additional or new bins will be charged on your rates and are pro-rated from the date received. Prices are as shown below:
