The Bower’s Collection and Rehoming Service

The Bower is a not-for-profit environmental Charity & Cooperative that assists in diverting waste from landfill by collecting, repairing and selling preloved goods. Council has a current membership with The Bower to help residents divert waste from landfill and preserve natural resources.  

The Collection and Rehoming Hotline

Do you have a preloved household item you no longer want but you don’t want going to landfill? Call the Collection and Rehoming Hotline on 9568 6280 or email The Hotline is available on weekdays, Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm.

Once you contact The Bower they will ask you a few simple questions to determine if your goods are suitable for the free collection service. The Collection and Rehoming Service will then arrange a date and time for your items to be collected. If The Bower is unable to collect your items directly, they will refer you to one of their many partner organisations which include charities, second hand shops and other recycling services.

Ryde residents can call the Collection and Rehoming Service an unlimited number of times. Having unwanted items recycled, repaired, or reused has never been easier.
