Term 2 2025 - Seniors Get Back to Sports - Thursdays - 12.30 - 1.30pm

This fun program is a nine-week low-cost sports program for seniors and retirees.

Playing sports is a great way to stay fit, whilst having fun, and building social ties within the community. During this program, you can try a range of low-impact sports with low to moderate intensity physical activity.

This program is suitable for seniors and retirees with stable long-term health conditions. Classes are conducted outside on grass fields or the basketball court. 

Classes will include warm up, skills practice, game, and cool down. 

Proposed schedule for term 1

• Week 1 – Walking soccer
• Week 2 – Walking netball
• Week 3 – Boxing
• Week 4 – Pickle ball
• Week 5 – Newcomb ball, throw/kick tennis, balloon volleyball
• Week 6 – Capture the flag
• Week 7 – Walking basketball
• Week 8 – Cricket / softball / tee-ball
• Week 9 – Participants will vote to repeat one of the sports from weeks 1 to 8.
  Other options include: touch football (hand off / no 'play the ball' rules), athletics, badminton, ping pong
