This smartphone photography talk hosted by City of Ryde Libraries and presented by a member of the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Camera Club, is an opportunity to see the passion and talent of Albert Hakvoort especially in the area of smartphone photography. Do you want to get "Off Auto” and take control of your camera settings.

Do you ever feel frustrated by photos that don’t capture the magic of the moment? Demystify shoot modes, settings, and more— in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Whether it’s your holidays, kids, pets, or nature’s beauty, you can take better pictures—and Albert can show you how! Hands on trialling manual camera adjustments in your smart phone.

This is an up close look at Albert’s skill and dedication in his photography journey particularly in nature and outdoors through smartphone photography skills. He goes to great lengths to obtain images and spend considerable time capturing the beauty of outdoor photography.

Albert has always been interested in photography for many years but more for taking snapshots of the adventures he has been on. This changed when his wife bought a ticket to a Ken Duncan seminar back in 2017. Thus, catapulting him seriously into the world of photography with a camera bug.

This made him go out on various shoots with professional photographers, watched lots of YouTube videos, lot of Googling and learnt how to process images in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Albert has entered many national and international competitions.He was finalist in international competition called "Nature photographer of the year" He competed with 20,000 images in the fungi section.

As a local, experienced photographer and tutor, taught photography at Reading College, supported The Henley Youth Festival, trained secondary school students in media studies, and led countless 1-2-1 sessions, private workshops, and corporate training sessions. Now, he is here to help you.
