Formalisation of Naming of Existing Road - Joannes Lane, North Ryde

The City of Ryde if proposing to formalise the naming of an existing road within the City as follows:

Name: Joannes Lane
History of name: Council has resolved to name this lane after Jo'Anne Duke, who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle collision on 13 November 2019 on the corner of Blaxland Road and Doomben Avenue, Eastwood. She was born and raised in North Ryde, was a long-standing employee at Macquarie Hospital and a regular volunteer and contributor to the Market Day at Macquarie Hospital, She had a strong connection to the North Ryde community.
Where: Public lane running off Coxs Road, North Ryde.

This notice is hereby given under Section 7 of the NSW Roads Regulation 2018. Council has conformed to the requirements of the Geographical Names Board (GNB) as described in the NSW Address Policy and User Manual available on the GNB website at

Written submissions must be clearly marked as 'Formalisation of Naming of Existing Road - Joannes Lane, North Ryde' and will be received up until Monday 25 January 2021.
