Works Commencing - Pittwater Road Shared User Path

Published on 07 July 2021

The Pittwater Road Shared User Path has now completed the next stage of detailed planning and has been approved by the Ryde Traffic Committee and Cycling Committee. We are pleased to advise that works are due to commence.

WHAT WILL THE WORKS INVOLVE?

  • Widening of the existing 1.2m wide footpath to a 2.5m wide shared-use path
  • Line marking and signage
  • Adjustment of driveway crossovers to accommodate the new path

It is a priority for Council to ensure there is minimal impact on trees and vegetation and this has been considered in the designs. As part of the upgrade, 22 trees will be removed and replaced with locally indigenous trees following construction.

The detailed design plans for each section can be viewed via the interactive map here or by clicking on one of the locations:

WHEN WILL THE WORKS TAKE PLACE?

Works are scheduled to commence mid July 2021 and are planned for completion by December 2021, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out Monday to Friday and some Saturdays between the hours of 7.00am and 4.00pm.
