The Core Skills program is a series of adult learning training courses being provided at City of Ryde Libraries through a partnership with Meadowbank TAFE as part of the NSW government ‘Smart and Skilled’ program. The courses generally run weekly for eight sessions over the term length. Each course is repeated throughout the year, subjects currently available include: smartphone & tablet skills, basic computer skills and reading, writing and speaking English skills.

Bookings for each Term open one month (4 weeks) before the start of the course and can be made in person at one of our library branches or by calling Ryde Library on 9952 8352. Each course is free to attend and all attendees are expected to attend each session. There is an eligibility criteria that attendees have to meet – they must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a humanitarian/refugee visa to qualify. All other visa types are not eligible to attend.
