Stormwater Upgrade and Road works at Hedgeland Close

The City of Ryde recently undertook stormwater drainage and road works at Hedgeland Close, Meadowbank. These works were part of Council’s Stormwater Improvement Program to benefit the efficiency of the drainage network and to provide a new vehicle turning area.

Completed works included protective works on existing and underground utilities including an oil pipeline, sewer main and gas main, as well as the reconfiguration of the underground drainage, street lighting changes, and continuation of the gabion wall between the upstream channel and the reconstruction of the shared user path. 

Maintenance Works - September 2024

The City of Ryde will be undertaking maintenance works for stormwater drainage in Hedgeland Close, Meadowbank. These works will benefit the efficiency of the drainage network.

What will the works include?

The works involve pumping water out of the stormwater drainage cells and cleaning out sedimentation/debris. CCTV footage of stormwater drainage cells will be undertaken to confirm the conditions of the stormwater drainage system.

What are the changed traffic conditions during the works?

Between Monday 9 September 2024 and Friday 13 September 2024, the pedestrian detour will be implemented as shown on the location plan on the back of this flyer. Pedestrians will be provided with convenient safe alternative routes at all times and will be guided by appropriate signage and Traffic Controllers to cross the road. 

All property access will be maintained at all times.

When will the works take place?

The works are expected to be undertaken between Monday 9 September 2024 and Friday 13 September 2024, weather permitting. The planned work hours are between 7.00am and 5.00pm. There will be some noise disturbances during the works.
