The Macquarie Park corridor has experienced significant growth in recent years and is expected to double in floor space and worker numbers by 2031. Congestion is an issue in the area and is expected to increase with growth. The parking provisions in the area will play a decisive role in managing this congestion by influencing the mode of transport that workers, students and visitors use to get to Macquarie Park.

In June 2016, Council endorsed changes to the parking meter fees in Macquarie Park in response to the traffic, parking and congestion issues.

What are the changes to Parking Meter Fees?

The all-day cap payment option of $18.00 will be removed from all of our parking meters. This means that if you park in any of our parking meter areas, you will need to pay per hour for the duration of your stay, within the time frame specified on the signage applicable to your car space. However there are no changes to the hourly parking meter rate of $3.00.

When will this change occur?

The removal of the all -day parking cap will occur on 1 July 2017.
