The City of Ryde is proposing to construct kerb and gutter on the eastern side of Monash Road between Higginbotham Road and Kim Street in Gladesville, to improve the stormwater drainage and safety of the road. These works are identified in Council’s 2019/20 Delivery Program.

The works to be undertaken as part of this project are:

  • Construction of kerb and gutter on the eastern side of Monash Road, between Higginbotham Road and #85 Monash Road
  • Reconstruction of stormwater drainage pit to suit new kerb alignment
  • Reconstruction of affected driveways to suit new kerb alignment
  • Resurfacing of the road surface between Higginbotham Road and Kim Street
  • Line marking, as shown on the concept plan

WHY ARE THE CHANGES BEING CONSIDERED?

The works are proposed to improve street drainage and geometric alignment of the road. Construction of kerb and gutter on the eastern side will prevent erosion and direct stormwater runoff from the road surface into the existing drainage system.
