The City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to install ‘NO STOPPING’ outside property No. 1 Kinson Crescent, Denistone.

WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?

In order to improve driver sightlines and the safety around the bend in Kinson Crescent, Council is proposing to install 37.5 metres of ‘NO STOPPING’ on the inner radius of the bend (southern-side).

WHY IS THE CHANGE BEING CONSIDERED?

The roadway at the bend in Kinson Crescent is approximately 7 metres wide.  When cars are parked on both sides of the road, there is insufficient space for two vehicles to pass, which limits access for emergency vehicles and increases the likelihood of a collision. By removing parking on one side, cars will be able to pass safely and efficiently.

WHAT OTHER CHANGES ARE PROPOSED IN THE AREA?

At the upcoming Works and Community Committee meeting to be held on Tuesday 12 June 2018, Council will be considering approval on a proposal to install a ‘GIVE WAY’ control in Anthony Road, at its intersection with West Parade. This proposed change in priority is to address concerns regarding traffic conditions in the area.
