'NO STOPPING' in Jones Street, Ryde

Consultation closed on 25 March 2018

In October last year, we asked for your feedback on the City of Ryde’s proposal to install ‘NO PARKING 5AM – 11AM TUESDAY’ controls on one side of Jones Road, Ryde, as part of a program to assist waste‑collection vehicles in narrow streets across the City of Ryde.

This proposal was not supported by local residents and we are now seeking your feedback on a revised proposal to improve safe waste-collection vehicle access and travel in Jones Street.

What are the proposed changes?

In order to improve access for large vehicles (including emergency vehicles, waste-collection and removalist vehicles), and provide two travel lanes for smaller vehicles, City of Ryde is proposing to install ‘NO STOPPING’ zones on both sides of the bend in Jones Street.

In addition to these improvements, 10 metre NO STOPPING zones will be installed at the following intersections, to reinforce the statutory Road Rules for parking near intersections.

  • Jones Street and Quarry Road
  • Jones Street and Gardener Avenue
