The City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to install ‘NO STOPPING’ and line markings at the bend in Mirool Street, Denistone West.

WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?

In order to provide two separate travel lanes around the bend, Council is proposing to install 55 metres of ‘NO STOPPING’ on the southern-side, and 58 metres on the northern-side of Mirool Street.

WHY IS THE CHANGE BEING CONSIDERED?

The roadway at the bend in Mirool Street is approximately 7.5 metre wide.  When cars are parked on both sides of the road, there is insufficient space for two vehicles to pass, which limits access for emergency vehicles and increases the likelihood of a collision. By removing parking, cars will be able to pass safely and efficiently.
