The Public hearing for the Morrison Bay - Land re-categorisation new meeting date has been scheduled. Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, Council has changed the public hearing.  Residents will be able to attend through a phone call or video link.

In 2018, the City of Ryde placed a draft Plan of Management on public exhibition for 17 parks and 7 road reserves along the Parramatta River. The Plan was developed to ensure a consistent and transparent approach to the way Council manages and improves these areas.

The Minister for Lands and Forestry has directed Council to recategorise a small portion of Morrison Bay Park (along the boundary with Philip Road) from ‘General Community Use’ to ‘Park’. The category 'Park' more closely aligns with the Community Land core objectives for the use of this area as well as the Crown Land Purpose of public recreation. To undertake this change, a public hearing is required under Section 40A of the Local Government Act 1993.

For more information on the recategorisation and public hearing, please see below.

The revised draft Plan of Management is on public exhibition until Sunday 19 April 2020.
