City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to install centrelines and parking controls in High Street, Gladesville.

WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?

In order to separate opposing travel lanes on approach to the crest in High Street, Council is proposing to install continuous double centrelines.  Given the narrow roadway width, 'NO STOPPING' parking control will also be installed on one side of the road. The location of these improvements is shown in the concept design.

WHY IS THE CHANGE BEING CONSIDERED?

The roadway at the crest in High Street is approximately 9 metres wide.  When cars park on both sides of the road, there is insufficient space for two vehicles to pass, which reduces access for emergency vehicles and increases the likelihood of a collision.
