City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal to install ‘NO STOPPING’ parking restrictions and line markings at the bend in Stewart Street, Eastwood.

What are the proposed changes?
In order to improve sight distance and allow sufficient lane width for large vehicles, Council is proposing to install approximately 59 metres of ‘NO STOPPING’ on the inner radius of the bend (western side).

Why is the change being considered?
The bend in Stewart Street is approximately 9 metres wide.  When cars are parked on both sides of the road there is no sight visibility at the bend and insufficient space to allow for large vehicles, such as waste collection trucks and emergency vehicles, to get past the parked cars.
