Council is proposing to implement measures to support small business in addition to the support and stimulus packages being offered by the Federal and NSW Governments.

Council is considering a suite of financial support measures including:

  • Waiving fees payable for Outdoor Dining – Cafes and Restaurants (in view of the restrictions placed on these operations)
  • Waiving certain fees and charges (such as inspection fees) - Cafes and Restaurants (in view of the restrictions placed on these operations)
  • Commercial tenants – Cafes and Restaurants in Council premises  – rent deferral (after discussions with tenants and consideration on a case-by-case basis)
  • Other Small Business initiatives – waiving certain certification fees; waiving filming application fees; consideration of rent deferral for Council tenants

It must be noted that the Federal Government is putting in place a number of measures to assist small business and leaseholders – and that circumstances are subject to rapid change.

Once the exhibition period has closed, a report will go back to Council to determine if these initiatives will go ahead.
