In 2018, the City of Ryde commissioned a Traffic and Parking Study for Eastwood.  At its meeting on 11 December 2018, Council resolved to place the Draft Summary Report Eastwood Traffic and Parking study on exhibition along with a concept for a new car park option.

Four scenarios were modelled in the Report for a new car park. Of these scenarios, ‘Option 3B’ was identified as the best option for traffic performance and would approximately allow for an additional 150 car spaces for shoppers.

‘Option 3B’ is the relocation of the car park to the Shaftsbury Road Precinct with the Glen Street car park transformed into a public plaza and potential community facility being activated by ground level retail space. This would create a more vibrant open space for the community, with facilities that could include a new community hall, youth space and an occasional childcare centre.

Prior to any studies taking place, Council would like to know if the community support ‘Option 3B'. The results of the consultation will be reported to Council for endorsement and funding to progress further with this project, which will include planning considerations, investigative studies , environmental and stormwater considerations, detailed design and an approvals process prior to any works.

The City of Ryde would like your feedback on the Draft Summary Report along with the draft concept of the 'Option 3B' car park.
