Following the City of Ryde Council Meeting adjournment from last night (Tuesday 29 April) due to a fire alarm evacuation interrupting proceedings, the meeting will be held tonight, Wednesday 30 April, at 7.00pm.
As a part of our Waste reduction awareness initiative, City of Ryde partnered with 8 local schools to create an art competition based on litter awareness. We received an incredible response with over 200 students aged between 9 to 11 participating in the competition.
The 10 winning students were each awarded $100 for their efforts. City of Ryde also hopes to showcase the drawings on street litter bins to help spread the message.
Students were encouraged to think about how litter effects our Community and waterways. In their drawings, students explored concepts such as the impact litter has on marine life and the food we eat.
For further information on litter reduction and recycling please visit the waste education page with great tips on how to reduce and reuse. View the submitted artworks in the gallery below.
