Ecoservice Bins

Do you care for the environment and want to reduce the amount of waste you send to landfill?

City of Ryde residents can now downsize their garbage bin to the smarter 80L garbage bin, and help create a Smarter, Cleaner, Greener place to live.

Reducing our waste and increasing recycling is one of the most important things we can do to lessen our reliance on landfills, conserve our natural resources and create a cleaner community.

If you live in a house, duplex or villa you can downsize your standard 140L garbage bin to a smaller 80L garbage bin. Switch to the Ecoservice by downsizing to a smaller 80L garbage bin, which not only saves you money but also reduces your impact on the environment.

Please note:  80L bins are not available for unit or apartment complexes that have a shared bin service.

Additional Recycle and Garden Organics bins are a cheap alternative

If you wish to recycle more of your waste, additional recycling or garden organics bins are available for less than a dollar per week.

Create more space in your bin by using a compost bin or worm farm

An innovative way to reduce your bin capacity requirements is to use a compost bin and / or worm farm to convert suitable food scraps into rich material for your garden. For more information on Council’s subsidised compost bins and worm farms, please visit the Compost Bins and Worm Farms page.
