West Ryde Library will resume normal opening hours and services on Monday 21 July.
Next date: Thursday, 14 August 2025 | 06:30 PM to 08:30 PM
Hear about Sally's life as a scientist and what it's like on a dig, and get up close and personal with some real fossils. Sally will answer your questions about dinosaurs, working as a palaeontologist and her experiences as a woman in STEM.
Sally Hurst is a passionate science communicator, palaeontologist and archaeologist who believes in the power of stories to bring science to life and inspire the next generation of scientists. Her research, known as the Found a Fossil Project, explores the interactions between humans, both ancient and modern, and fossils. Sally is determined to be the role model for girls in science that she wished for when growing up.
She is involved in the Superstars of STEM program and is a mentor for girls through the Harding Miller Education Foundation and Curious Minds programs.
