The City of Ryde Sportsground Allocation Policy is the guiding document which identifies how Council manages access and use of its sportsgrounds and associated facilities for sporting user groups and the wider community.

To ensure this policy is best meeting the changing needs of the Ryde community it is important that this policy is regularly reviewed. With the last policy update occurring in 2019, this policy has been reviewed once again and several amendments have been proposed with the aim of assisting Council in managing the increasing and competing demands from sports clubs, associations, schools, commercial and private organisations who each wish to apply for use of a sportsground or its associated facilities.

Areas which have either been addressed or have been amended in this draft version of the Sportsground Allocation Policy 2022 include:

  • Prioritisation of grassroots sport for the existing synthetic sports field at ELS Hall Park
  • Clarification of seasonal sportsground booking procedure
  • Closure of sports fields for Council activities
  • Allocation process for Christie Park Fields 1 & 2
  • Clarification of commercial/corporate partnership hire arrangements
  • Summer and Winter Season dates

Council is now seeking your comments and feedback on the proposed changes to the current edition of the policy to ensure this document is best able to meet the community’s sport and recreation needs now and into the future.
