Ryedale Road (West Ryde) Town Centre Upgrade
Rendered impression, may be subject to change.
The delivery of this project has been delayed by the unprecedented wet weather, utility provider and COVID impacts (including supply chains, materials and staffing). As a result, construction is expected to be completed in June 2022, weather and COVID impacts permitting.
The remaining works include:
- Road resurfacing
- Line marking
- Herbert Street at Anzac Park footpath upgrade
- Feature pavement at train station
The town centre will be enhanced in line with community feedback that was received via the ‘Have Your Say’ survey in August 2020. This feedback helped shape the design of the upgrades and now construction is about to begin in early April 2021.
The works will include the rebuild of the entire streetscape, including undergrounding of the current overhead powerlines, removing old power poles and installing multifunction poles. There will also be drainage works, footpath works, a raised pedestrian crossing at the train station and road resheeting. New landscaping, planting and street furniture will complete the town centre rebuild.
The rebuild work is being done in parallel with a separate upgrade to the commuter car park near the West Ryde train station by TfNSW. Click here for more details.
