Please note: Have Your Say Coxs Road Public Domain Upgrade has been extended until Sunday 27 September 2020.

Please note: focus groups will now be held online.

City of Ryde is planning to upgrade the public domain at Coxs Road, North Ryde and have engaged Clouston Associates to develop the design. Coxs Road currently includes a small shopping mall, local businesses including services, retail, outdoor dining areas, library and carparking.

Earlier this year, City of Ryde sought community and stakeholder input to create a concept design for the public domain in Coxs Road, North Ryde.

We’ve used this feedback to create a concept design for the site which includes improved outdoor seating, shading, footpath, plantings and trees. We would now like to know what you think of this design.

These are some examples of what we’ve included in the draft concept design based on your comments during our first round of consultation:

  • Arrival feature trees at each end of precinct
  • Increased plaza space to create a social corner
  • Strategically placed seating around the site
  • Consistent and more even footpath surfaces
  • Raised planter beds to separate pedestrians from vehicles
  • Street tree planting to increase shade and amenity
  • Shade structures and better aligned seating for outdoor dining

What is the public domain?

The public domain includes the areas outside the properties including elements such as pathways, street furniture, landscaping and street parking. The area which will be included within this upgrade is included in the image below.
