The City of Ryde is seeking feedback on a proposal for road renewal works along Gordon Crescent, Denistone between East Parade and Sixth Avenue to improve stormwater drainage and the safety of the road.

These works are identified for construction in 2021 and are being funded by the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (Phase 2) that supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects.

What are the proposed works?

The proposed works to be undertaken as part of this project include:

  • Raised kerb and gutter along the northern side of the road to eliminate the gutter bridges
  • Stormwater improvements
  • Road resurfacing and line marking

Why are these works being proposed?

The works are proposed to improve street drainage and eliminate the gutter bridges. Construction of new kerb and gutter will prevent erosion and improve safety for road users.

Will any trees be impacted?

As part of the proposed road renewal works, twelve (12) trees will be removed and will be replaced with thirty five (35) new locally indigenous trees. These will be planted on both sides of the street to replace the removed vegetation and to improve the street scape of Gordon Crescent.

We invite you to provide your feedback on the proposed road renewal works and replanting of street trees.
