Works commencing 10 May 2021

Published on 03 May 2021

Following the feedback received in March 2021, we have updated the design and we are pleased to advise that works are due to commence.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

  • We have reviewed the trees to be replanted and have removed two (2) for better visibility
  • The tree species to be replanted have been selected as they have trunks clear of foliage so they do not impede sightlines
  • The trees species selected for the 'even numbers' side of the street are smaller in size to avoid conflict with powerlines

The tree species for this projects are based on arborcultural recommendations and also in association with the ecological community at Symon's Reserve.

WHAT WILL THE WORKS INVOLVE?

  • Raised kerb and gutter long the northern side of the road to eliminate the gutter bridges
  • Stormwater improvements
  • Road resurfacing and line marking
  • Removal of twelve (12) trees
  • Planting of thirty-three (33) new locally indigenous trees along both sides of the street to replace removed vegetation.

WHEN WILL THE WORKS TAKE PLACE?

Works are scheduled to commence 10 May 2021 and are planned for completion by December 2021, weather permitting.
