Last year, during the Stage 2 community consultation for Kings Park (former Denistone East Bowling Club site), you told us you would like to see a play area for kids, opportunities for active recreation and sport, greenery, accessible paths and shaded areas for relaxing in the park.  Council has now developed a concept design for Kings Park based on your feedback.

The concept design includes a new playground for kids with a shade sail, multi-court, open kick about spaces, new paths, seating, a covered community area and additional trees and shrubs.

We would like to hear your thoughts on the concept design for Kings Park.

Background

Denistone East Bowling Club - Stage 2 Community Consultation Outcome

During Stage 2 (now complete), Council presented options for the site for you to consider. In developing these options Council considered the community feedback from Stage 1, site and location constraints, and traffic and parking implications.

The result of the Stage 2 consultation found that the below option was the most preferred option for both passive and active open spaces. The key reasons in support of this option were that it provided recreation space to the whole community including children, families and young people as well as older people, has minimal traffic and parking impacts, is in keeping with the area, provides a benefit to Denistone East Public School, and will be a meeting place for the community.
