Wilga Park Public Art

Consultation closed on 28 November 2018

In July last year we asked for your input on an upgrade to Wilga Park. The status of this project is that the tender has been completed and construction will commence soon.

In addition to the park upgrade Council is also installing three public artworks that will complement and enhance the park.

The design development of Wilga Park, the shared user path and the artworks have been guided by the reoccurring themes from your feedback in July being: connection to nature, places to sit and relax, lit footpaths, connections and an amphitheatre.

Works have started

Construction works have now started at Wilga Park. 

What do the works involve?

The works will consist of the following:

  • Amphitheatre terracing with concrete seating walls
  • A new amenities building
  • Improved path lighting and new access paths, including an accessible path from Cottonwood Crescent into the park
  • Entries to the park that provide a direct connection to Quandong Reserve
  • A picnic area
  • An exercise area
  • A new landscaped boundary with native grass and groundcover, plus a native tree canopy
  • Three public artworks

Works are programmed to be completed by August 2019, weather permitting. 

Wilga Park will be closed to the public during the works period. Where required, there will be traffic control in place to assist with pedestrian access and vehicle movement around the park. The Shared User Path between Waterloo Road and Epping Road will be open and maintained during the construction period. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience the works may cause and thank you for your patience.
