The City of Ryde is reviewing its Tree Policies which includes the preparation of a best practice maintenance policy for trees planted on nature strips and on Council owned land.

Trees have environmental, economic and social benefits. They are a community resource with biodiversity value and can positively contribute to property values and urban character. Some trees also have heritage value.

Council is keen to understand the views of the community in relation to public trees (street trees and park trees). To facilitate this, Council has prepared an online survey to get your feedback and ideas on the future management and maintenance of public trees.

The survey will gather your feedback and any ideas you may have on:

  • The value you place on trees in your street and more generally in the City of Ryde
  • Any tree issues you have come across regarding tree location, maintenance and/or replacement of street trees.
