The City of Ryde is exploring the possibility of introducing a Food Scraps Recycling Service (also known as Food Organics, Garden Organics or FOGO) as part of our domestic waste management provisions. The NSW EPA Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy (WASM) requires that councils provide food and garden waste collections to all NSW households by 2030.

The Food Scraps Recycling Service would include the collection of food scraps and garden organics, which will then be processed into compost.

We would like to hear your thoughts on this proposed service and whether you would be willing to pay for this service as part of your existing Domestic Waste Management Charge. Your input will help us make an informed decision about whether to implement this service in our community.
