Project Update - Westminster Park Masterplan Concept Design

Concept Design - Phase 1 Upgrades

The concept design for Phase 1 of the Westminster Park Masterplan delivery has now been finalised. The following park upgrades are identified for delivery in two stages over the coming years:

Phase 1A Upgrade:

  • Natural turf sportsground renewal

This upgrade is scheduled to commence in September/October 2021. A separate notification containing detailed project information will be sent prior to these works commencing.

Phase 1B Upgrades:

  • Access improvements from Westminster Road to the sportsground
  • Terraced seating area adjacent to amenities building
  • Increased seating opportunities around the park
  • New connection from Ryde Road to sportsground
  • Additional tree planting to increase tree canopy

These upgrades are scheduled to be delivered as funding becomes available.

Phase 2 Upgrades

Phase 2 upgrades that are due to occur but have not yet been scheduled for delivery include:

  • Stormwater mitigation works
  • Conversion of the natural turf sportsground to a synthetic surface
  • Upgrade of the park amenities and community building

Once funding has been allocated for the design and delivery of these upgrades, Council will provide a further update.
