Following the City of Ryde Council Meeting adjournment from last night (Tuesday 29 April) due to a fire alarm evacuation interrupting proceedings, the meeting will be held tonight, Wednesday 30 April, at 7.00pm.
Council in association with the Heart Foundation, is launching a ‘Walking for Fitness’ program - a network of free community based walking groups.
The walks are 30 - 60 minutes long, depending on the preferences of the groups. They are run by volunteers from the community and everyone is welcome to join in.
Register your interest in joining the group or just turn up on the day and register there.
This group walks once a month (usually the first Sunday of every month), along the Paramatta river from Putney to Kissing Point and back for an hour.
Council and the Heart Foundation provide support and training for volunteers, who would like to start a walking group in their area.
For more information on setting up a group, or for information on an existing walking group, call Council's Customer Service on 9952 8222.
