West Ryde Town Centre Draft Masterplan Options

Consultation closed on 14 May 2021

The City of Ryde is planning for the future of the West Ryde Town Centre by preparing a Masterplan to help encourage the rejuvenation of the area into a distinctive, vibrant, and attractive local centre.

The Masterplan will investigate the ideas from the draft West Ryde Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy  (draft Strategy) that formed part of Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS), and consider the land use and urban design changes that may be needed to promote renewal.

We asked the community to share their ideas to revitalise the West Ryde Town Centre as part of an initial ‘Have Your Say’ that took place from 25 November 2020 to 22 January 2021.

The draft Masterplan options are now ready for consultation with the community.

You can Have Your Say up until Friday 14 May 2021.

Your feedback will be used to inform a preferred Masterplan option. The Masterplan will not directly approve any new development or directly change any existing development rules such as zoning or height limits. The Masterplan will help guide any future changes to the Ryde Local Environmental Plan 2014 which need to be made via a Planning Proposal.

You will have further opportunity to comment on future Planning Proposals in West Ryde before changes to the planning controls are made.

Draft Masterplan Options

We encourage you to review the draft options and read the supporting questions to understand how and why the Masterplan was prepared, the constraints to revitalisation, and Council’s ability to influence renewal within the West Ryde Town Centre.
