The Granny Smith Festival will be bustling with activities and large crowds are expected over the day. To fully enjoy the event, we advise planning your trip in advance.

Here you’ll find essential information on parking, walking or cycling, accessible drop off zone and important road closures to help with traffic management and safety.

Parking

Parking is limited, so we recommend using public transport as your primary option. Public parking is available on surrounding streets and at the following locations: Glen Street Carpark (closed from 8:00am -11:30am) and Rowe St East carpark (with time restrictions).

Walk or Cycle

Walk or Cycle if you live nearby or prefer to get some exercise, the Granny Smith Festival encourages walkers and cyclists to the event. Please check the distance and route options using your preferred map supplier.

Accessible Drop Off Zone

If you have a mobility parking permit and require close access to the festival, use our Drop-Off Zone, entry is via Trelawney St located on the map. There is also limited mobility parking located at Eastwood Shopping Centre and Glen St carpark. Time restrictions apply. 

Shop Ryder Event Shuttle Bus

The City of Ryde Shop Ryder bus will be running an extended service until 6pm on the day - Saturday 19 October 2024.

Important Road Closures

Road closures and traffic changes will be in effect around Eastwood from:
 5.30pm Friday 18 October to 11.30pm Saturday 19 October (or until safe to re-open).

Temporary No Stopping zones

Temporary No Stopping zones will be in place from 3:30pm Friday 18 October at:

  • Both sides of Trelawney Street between Rowe Street and Eastwood Centre carpark entry
  • Both sides of Hillview Road between Lakeside Road and West Parade.
  • No stopping on both sides of Lakeside Road, between Glen Street and Clive Road.

Temporary No Stopping zones will be in place from 6:00am – 9:00pm Saturday 19 October at the following locations:

  • the southern side of Rutledge Street between Trelawney Street and Shaftsbury Road

No Right Turn conditions on Shaftsbury Road

There will be no right turn permitted for vehicles exiting Glen Street onto Shaftsbury Road from 5:00am – 9:00pm Saturday 19 October.

No vehicle access in Hillview Lane between Shaftsbury and Lakeside Road from 6:00am – 7:00pm Saturday 19 October.




Changes to bus Routes / Stops

Due to the closure of West Parade, some buses have been diverted to pick up and set down on the East side of Eastwood Train Station.

The following changes will be in place from 5:00pm Friday 18 October until 11:00pm Saturday 19 October:

  • 545 (Friday and Saturday)
  • 515 (Friday and Saturday)
  • 544 (Friday and Saturday)
  • 521 (Friday and Saturday) 
  • 541 (Friday)
