The Ryde Local Transport Forum (RTF) serves as an advisory body, providing technical review and facilitating coordination of works and events on Council roads. It does not issue approvals or make decisions. Matters relating to State roads or functions such as speed zoning are referred directly to Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and are not dealt with by Council.
The RTF considers the technical merits of proposals against current technical guidelines. Council is not bound by the advice of the RTF. Should Council recommend contrary to the RTF recommendation, then the matter can be referred to Transport for NSW or NSW Minister for Roads to make a final decision.
Mandatory membership of RTF is limited to the following stakeholders:
Should a non-mandatory member (e.g. resident) wish to address and attend the RTF on a particular agenda item, the person/entity would need to make prior arrangements with Council staff to address the Forum.
Attendees will be notified of the RTF meeting location prior to the meeting.
