Mural at West Ryde Pedestrian Underpass
The West Ryde Pedestrian Underpass mural was installed as part of the City of Ryde’s 2022 Arts Activation Ryde Program in partnership with Artisans Ryde.
The mural is a collaboration between Council’s City Activation Team, local community arts group Artisans Ryde and Transport for NSW.
Themes and concepts for the design were developed as part of a public community workshop which were then integrated and transformed into the final artwork.
Titled ‘Our West Ryde’ the mural features a variety of themes that celebrates West Ryde as a transport hub, an active and social town centre, as well as its open spaces and parkland.
The artwork reflects three main themes identified in the community workshop:
- WEST RYDE IS GREEN AND ORGANIC
- WEST RYDE IS A TRANSPORT HUB
- WEST RYDE IS ACTIVE AND SOCIAL
