About the Program

Do you want to make a difference in your community? The Ryde Together: Community Mentorship Project is looking for volunteer mentors to support newly arrived residents in the City of Ryde. This initiative pairs new residents with long-term locals who can provide guidance, share their knowledge of the area, and help build a welcoming and connected community.

  • Are friendly, approachable, and willing to share their experiences.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can commit 2–3 hours per fortnight for at least 6 months.
  • Are passionate about supporting new residents and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Speak a language other than English (not compulsory but welcomed).

What’s in It for You?

As a volunteer mentor, you will:

  • Gain meaningful connections by supporting a new resident.
  • Develop mentorship and leadership skills through structured training.
  • Learn about diverse cultures and expand your community network.
  • Contribute to a stronger, more inclusive Ryde.
  • Receive ongoing support from program coordinators and be part of a community-driven initiative.
