Join us for an evening of inclusive creativity in this final Rainbow Art Journaling for 16+ years session

In this final workshop, you’ll create art inspired by your inner self - no prior artistic skills required! Just bring your curiosity and an open mind and let your imagination flow as you explore new forms of self-expression. The theme for this month is imagining your future dreams.

This art journaling journey invites queer adults to explore their emotions, celebrate their growth, and create a visual reflection of what contentment means to them. Through guided prompts and creative expression, we'll cultivate spaces of affirmation, connection, and self-discovery.

Expect a warm, inclusive environment where all identities are welcomed and celebrated, all attendees are expected to be respectful of each other. This is a chance to explore self-expression, connect with others, and make new friends in the local community! Please arrive by 6.00pm for a prompt start.

Workshop highlights

Art journaling is about the creative process of pulling together colour, words, and images as you wish, on a page. unlike many other forms of art, it is not about the outcome. - Tammy Garcia

  • Art journaling offers benefits such as stress reduction, mindfulness, emotional expression, and a way to cultivate meaning in life.
  • The workshop will begin with a grounding activity to help everyone settle in, followed by dedicated time for creating your art journal using a variety of techniques and materials provided.
  • After the creative session, we’ll come together to share and discuss our artwork, fostering connection and reflection - helping you feel more in tune with yourself and others.

This will be a queer-friendly space for participants aged 16+ years to explore your inner artist and express yourself freely, through any medium that speaks to you.

Come as you are and leave with your journal and new friends! It’s all about connecting, creating, and communicating through art.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any personal items that inspire you.

This project was grant funded by City of Ryde.

Light refreshments will be served. See you there!
