Would You Know How To Respond In An Emergency?
City of Ryde Libraries is proud to host a potentially lifesaving information session in partnership with Royal Life Saving NSW. Help us celebrate the International Day of People with Disability!
This Auslan interpreted hands-on workshop is will empower you to know that YOU can save a life, no matter your age or ability. Learn how to answer potential risks to family or friends. A special morning tea will be provided for all attendees.
This workshop is designed to engage vulnerable communities including seniors, multicultural groups and people with disabilities, by building your confidence to respond in an emergency. Participants will learn or refresh vital skills in CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), empowering you to potentially save a life.
What you will learn:
- Knowledge and experience of CPR and the use of an AED by taking part in an interactive session detailing DRSABCD and how to communicate with ‘000’ when an emergency occurs
- How to contact emergency services via the Emergency + app and the National Relay Service (NRS)
- A snapshot of the Royal Life Saving Active Adults programs to encourage aquatic participation.

PLEASE NOTE: this session is being held in the Meeting Room of the North Ryde School of Arts Community Centre, adjacent and behind North Ryde Library. The entrance is the 2nd ramp down the lane located to the right hand side of the Community Centre/Library building.
