National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. It gives people with disability choice and control over the supports they receive to pursue their goals and aspirations and participate in daily life.

Preparing for the 1 July 2016 roll out, the City of Ryde hosted its first NDIS information session on Thursday 3 December 2015 as part of the International Day of People with Disability celebrations. The key themes and messages from this information session was recorded and developed into short film clips for those who were not able to attend on the day.

Following the success of this session the City of Ryde hosted its second NDIS Information Expo in partnership with Ryde Public School and key stakeholders on Wednesday 30 March 2016.
