Council held an Extraordinary Meeting on Tuesday 10 June 2025. The following is a summary of outcomes from the meeting:

Notice of Rescission – Draft Ryde Key Workers Affordable Housing Policy

A rescission motion filed against a resolution on the Draft Key Workers Affordable Housing Policy made at the 27 May 2025 meeting was defeated.

New Draft Ryde Key Workers Affordable Housing Policy

Council endorsed the exhibition of the Draft Key Workers Affordable Housing Policy for a period of 42 days. A report will be provided back to Council on the submissions received during the exhibition period and any recommended amendments to the Policy. Council acknowledged the limited number of only 29 key worker affordable housing units in the City of Ryde portfolio and will prioritise nurses, teachers, and Triple Zero service providers such as ambulance officers and paramedics, firefighters and police officers, as well as cleaners and childcare workers.

Mayoral Minute – St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School Eastwood centenary

Council congratulated the leaders of St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School on the centenary milestone, which will be celebrated on 27 June 2025. To commemorate the occasion, the Mayor will present a plaque and certificate to the school.
